Who we are

AvoSolution is a software development and consultancy studio based in the United Kingdom. This policy covers avosolution.co.uk. If you want to ask about anything here, or about information we hold on you, email ask@avosolution.co.uk.

We are the data controller for the information described below, which means we decide why it is collected and what happens to it.

What we collect when you use this site

If you send us an enquiry, we collect what you type into the form: your name, your email address, your phone number if you give one, which service you are asking about, and your message. We use it to answer you and to discuss the work. We do not use it for marketing and we do not sell it.

The legal basis for handling an enquiry is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us about our services.

If you agree to analytics, we collect anonymous statistics about how the site is used: which pages are visited, roughly where in the world a visit comes from, and what kind of device it is on. This does not tell us who you are.

Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, as a normal part of serving and protecting the site.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no analytics cookies unless you agree to them. Google Analytics is not loaded at all until you press Accept on the cookie banner. If you decline, or ignore the banner, no analytics cookie is ever set and no request is made to Google.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.

Two small pieces of information are stored in your browser rather than as cookies: your cookie choice, so we do not ask again on every page, and your light or dark appearance preference if you change it. Neither is sent to us or to anyone else, and clearing your browser data removes both.

Who else handles your information

This site is hosted by Netlify, who also receive enquiries sent through the contact form before they reach us.

If you have accepted analytics, Google Analytics receives the usage statistics described above.

Both are established providers acting on our instructions. We do not share your information with anyone else unless we are legally required to.

Where your information is stored

Netlify and Google are both United States companies, so information handled through this site may be processed outside the United Kingdom. Both operate under data transfer arrangements intended to protect information moved out of the UK and the European Economic Area.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to answer you and to keep a reasonable record of work we have discussed or quoted for, and then delete them.

Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings and expires automatically after that period.

Your rights

You have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, and to ask us to delete it. You can also ask us to restrict how we use it, to object to our using it, or to provide it in a portable form.

Email ask@avosolution.co.uk and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.

Complaints

If you think we have handled your information badly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If we change how this site handles information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
